Give your relationship an MOT
Invest seven evenings in building a healthy marriage...and it’s free!
St Paul’s Church is hosting The Marriage Course from February.

It aims to give any married couple the tools to build a strong and healthy marriage that lasts a lifetime.
Comments from couples who have taken the course at St Paul’s include:
“A special opportunity to spend time thinking about our marriage.”
“Time to talk about things we don’t get to discuss on a daily basis. The course has helped us understand more about developing a long and happy marriage.”
“It has brought us together and helped us understand each other.”
Over seven evenings, couples talk to each other about important issues that can get swept under the carpet in the rush of daily life.
Topics covered include:
- Recognising each other’s needs
- Learning to communicate effectively
- Resolving conflict
- Healing past hurt
- Knowing how to make each other feel loved
- Relating to parents and in-laws
- Good sex
- Making time for each other, and
- Having fun together
The course is based around a series of lively talks on DVD by Nicky and Sila Lee of Holy Trinity Brompton church in West London. Nicky and Sila have been married for 30 years and have four children. They developed the course, and it is now available at venues around the world. Each evening begins with the DVD and is followed by opportunities for couples to discuss the topic together as couples.
Privacy as a couple is always respected. There is no requirement to disclose anything about your relationship to anyone else. The setting is welcoming, relaxed and unthreatening.
The Marriage Course is for any married couple who want to build a strong and lasting relationship, especially those:
- Who want to enhance their marriage
- In the first five years of marriage
- At a challenging stage in their marriage, for example the birth of a child, a career change, teenagers at home, ‘empty nest’ or retirement.
The course, while based on Christian principles, is helpful for any couple with or without a Christian faith or church background.
There is no charge for the course.
