Seminar Sunday  - 29th January 2012 10.30am

SEMINAR SUNDAY

Children will go to their groups as usual.

The following is the choice for adults:

1.  A community  that supports the Rehabilitation of Offenders is a Safer One

with Tessa Webb of Hertfordshire Probation Service

'For those who come before the criminal courts they have made poor choices, the work of probation staff is to help them re examine the choices and opportunities available to them.  The work is  complex and challenging but it is also  purposeful and  makes a  positive  difference to reduce  the number of  potential victims and  keep our communities safer.'  This seminar will give you insights into the work and how the local community can respond.

2.  St Paul’s Pastoral Care and Theological Teaching   with Dennis Stamps - Continuing Ministerial Education Officer for the Diocese

St Paul was a pastor to the churches he founded.  We will look at the way Paul maintained contact with the churches through his letters and explore the key themes and issues in his letters which form the basis for his instructions to the churches.  So we will touch on topics like the key elements of his gospel, his teaching on the Holy Spirit, his ethical teaching. This will be at an introductory level and hopefully provide a foundation for your ongoing reading and study of Paul’s letters.

3.  The Picture Perfect Family

An Event for Parents AND your Youth (year 7-13) with Noah Mitchell

We are all very aware of how imperfect we are. So why do we expect our family to be picture perfect? What if we're looking for the wrong thing? What if instead of your family being a "model" family, your family was part of something bigger... a bigger story– God's story?

Bring your teen to this special event and discover together what God intended for our families to be. It may not be what you think.
