10 week course starting Monday 15 January 2018 at 7.30pm
Fasting twice a week is an ancient spiritual discipline. It can not only help with losing weight, it also allows us to invite God into an area of our lives that we often think he is not really interested in – our eating habits. This 10 week course will explore how fasting twice a week can help us better understand our desire for food and so transform the way we think about it and we how we behave around it. Fasting helps us recognise our need for God in every area of our life and so draws us into a closer relationship with him.
Hungry for God offers practical help and tips on fasting twice a week and the chance to share your experience over a small meal followed by a talk and discussion. We will draw on the spiritual wisdom of Christians down the ages to learn how fasting can lead us into better spiritual and physical health.
Hungry for God will be led by Anne de la Hunty, who is a nutritionist and is studying for a Theology degree and Delyth Clark and Christine McNally who did the course last year. Anne developed the course as part of her studies.
Please email Anne at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in doing the course.
The course will be held on Monday evenings at St Pauls from 7.30pm, starting on Monday 15th January. There will be a charge of around £4 each evening to cover the cost of the meal.
